European regulations now require Competent Authorities to have a compliance monitoring function. This should include a schedule of internal audits and risk management processes that verifies that the Authority is carrying out its tasks in accordance with regulatory requirements, international standards and organisational policies.
In order to ensure that the compliance monitoring function is objective it makes sense to use external auditors who do not have a role within the Authority. McKechnie Aviation consultants have extensive experience of auditing CAAs and can assist with compliance monitoring functions by the conduct of individual audits or by managing the complete compliance monitoring programme on behalf of the CAA. We’ll deliver a compliance monitoring programme that not only meets the regulatory requirements but also provides useful information about the capabilities of your team and the performance of the organisation.
